Telluride Realty's Monthly e-Newsletter
June 2008 Mother used to say that only the boring need ever be bored. In some small towns, the growing of grass is an event. But not here. 6/19 - 22 Bluegrass Festival Artists include Sam Bush Band, Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby, Ani DiFranco, and Yonder Mountain String Band. 6/22 - 28 Bike Week 6/26 – 29 Wine Festival 6/29 – 7/5 Plein-Air Festival New Lift Under ConstructionThey said it couldn’t be done.
The Revelation Bowl has been called “the perfect powder bowl,” since wind transport typically adds to fresh snowfall there. The new lift will also provide easy access to Chutes 6 – 10, which lead to the Palmyra Basin. An access gate near the top of the lift will give advanced adventurers freedom to explore backcountry skiing in Bear Creek. For those of you already dreaming of ski season, more complete information can be found at: http://blog.tellurideskiresort.com/blogs/davesblog/default.aspx
Spring Warms the MarketAh, spring. It’s when robins build nests, and people think about new places to live. The cold winter months tend to slow down real estate market activity in many areas. Who wants to look for a home when there’s snow in the mountains? If we pack, we pack suitcases with swimsuits. Otherwise, we work and we ski.
As of now, interest rates are low and it’s still a buyer's market, but that won't last for long. Telluride properties have a history of appreciating in value faster than the national average, making real estate in this town a smart investment. There are still some bargains to be had here, but as our summer visitors start to arrive and our market heats up, those will melt away along with the last of our snow. |
